PROGRESSIVE BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE
What is Applied Behavior Analysis?
Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a branch of psychology which uses scientifically tested principles such as positive reinforcement to bring about positive changes in children's behavior. ABA can be used to solve linguistic, social, learning and academic problems your children may suffer. ABA can help reduce children's everyday social problems, and more serious behavior disorders. In fact, ABA has been proven by hundreds of studies to be the most effective method to teach children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities.
How does ABA work? Behavioral analysts define children's behavior in observable and measurable terms so they can assess progress over time and determine what works and what does not. A behavioral analyst will study a child's problem behavior not in an office, or a clinic, but within the environment where it occurs, to determine why the behavior is occurring and what factors are influencing the behavior. Recognizing the importance of environment, behavioral analysts also work with parents to create environments that are best for your children.
