Before my son Juan started with PBS, we had problems with his speech and behavior. He could not find a way to express himself and would start to hit his cousin and bite his grandmother on a daily basis. Or if we would be in public and he wanted something that I could not get him the tantrums that he would throw were not just embarrassing but frustrating because I could not figure out how to make him stop. I am so thankful to have the therapist from PBS help Juan with not just his speech and behavior issues but how to cope with everyday living. They showed him how to communicate with PECS and showed him that hitting or biting people will not help him get through the day. They also helped him with eating with a fork, drinking out of a regular cup with no lid or straw. They have showed him how to color, match what animals go with a particular sound. His verbal has increase so much that it has left us speechless. I can go to a store now and not worry about Juan throwing a tantrum. PBS has also showed me and my family what we should do if he ever gets frustrated because he cannot express himself verbally. I cannot express how thankful we are that Juan has come a long way and we could not have done it without the help of the therapist in PBS.

Sebastian was diagnosed with a developmental delay at 2 1/2 years of age and later at age 5, he was diagnoses with autism.
Before we began with ABA therapy, I was a very discouraged mother who had no idea how to handle the difficult behaviors of my eleven year-old son. It was a very frustrating and lonely time and by the end of most days I was in tears. My son mostly spoke in 1-2 word phrases, did not allow singing or dancing in the house, was very difficult to take out of the house and also had difficulty with potty training. His behavior was becoming more of an issue and his noncompliance was really beginning to show itself. As he was just getting older and bigger in size, it was much more difficult to approach his behaviors.
After about 2-3 months of therapy, we started seeing dramatic results. His behaviors have decreased and when they do arise I now know how to effectively handle them. He is better able to manage his behavior and to recover from challenges more easily. He is making tremendous progress and is a much happier and more confident boy. I am happy to say that now that he is better equipped in his communication skills, is positively working on the singing and dancing and is complete potty trained. Even though, Sebastian was struggling with the daily routine of 2 hours of therapy, and a school based program, because of these services, he has made tremendous growth academically. At home he is able to play board games, take turns and interact positively with others. He is also able to go out in the community with less stress. I am very grateful for the talents of Siomara and Ivis and for PBS’s wonderful program.
Siomara is exceptional and has built a terrific friendship with him and has laid a solid foundation for him to grow on.
Both therapists together have developed a system that is very effective for him at school and at home. We are aware of the challenges and obstacles a child with autism faces in everyday situations but they have honestly changed my life and the life of my family. But most important, my son now has a better chance at a successful and happy future.
My entire family has observed what an incredible development this therapy along with his great therapist has accomplished for him. Sebastian is very luck to have found such a great and knowledgeable team.

I have known Maria Arizmendi prior to her creating PBS, when she was providing ABA services to our son while she was working for another ABA provider. It wasn’t a surprise to me to know that she had created a company that will provide ABA services under her supervision. Prior to PBS, she gave therapy to our son and he showed a lot improving in his overall understanding and behavior. Our son is becoming little by little verbal and we have found that there are very few therapists that can work successfully with non verbal children in the autistic spectrum. We are now receiving therapies under PBS, by some of the therapists that Maria has chosen. Since Maria is also a Professor at the University we are certain she knows her staff well. Our experiences with these therapists is very good and they are very understanding and supportive. I highly recommend them!

When Michael began ABA therapy at 3 years old, I could not imagine the amount of new and fantastic things to come into our lives.
The daily hard work, effort and affection of all PBS’ professionals that work daily with Michael have helped him get a new life.
To be able to communicate, play with toys, enjoy his surroundings like any child his age, saying his first words I never thought I would listen to him say, look at me in the eyes…I can see every day in his therapists from PBS the excitement when he makes progress and the effort that each of them makes so that he improves a little more every day. am very happy and glad to have found these professionals; I feel I have made a good choice with them. We now enjoy our son every day a little more. I feel as if they were slowly bringing him back from the lost world of Autism to our world. Thank you very much for giving Michael another chance in this life and to give us joy and hope every day

First of all, it has been a great blessing to be with PBS. The experience and care that they have to teach the appropriate programs to our son Jose is excellent. Especially to teach us the parents and the school on how to work with him all together and with the only purpose that Jose learns and in the future he is more independent child. Progress in some areas has been slow but the perseverance of PBS and us have been the mainstay to not give up. We live one day at a time knowing that each day is a step in the progress of our son and we thank God for PBS to be a very special team with a big heart to give what our children need, love, perseverance and discipline.

Our son is 12 years old autistic child and he has been having all kind of therapies since he was 2 years old. For him to be able to generalize what he is learning in therapy in his daily life, has been a very slow process. Since he started with PBS, about one year ago, the process of generalization is getting very fast and everyday he surprises us with a longer sentence, or asking a new wh question, so his communication has improved a lot.
